Temporary traffic lights are planned at a busy junction in Shepton Mallet this week before the lockdown begins.

Multi-way lights are scheduled at the junction of the B3136 West Shepton and Old Wells Road, outside of Barry Locke Motors.

They are due to be used on Tuesday (November 3) and Wednesday (November 4) to enable Bristol Water to undertake works in the area.

Other roadworks in Shepton Mallet that are scheduled to take place this week before lockdown include:

Frithfield Lane is set to be closed between 7.30am and 6pm on Monday (November 2) and Tuesday for resurfacing.

On these two days, temporary traffic lights are due to be in place on the A361 Paul Street for the safe delivery and removal of equipment associated with the resurfacing work.

From Monday, a number of services are set to be working under temporary traffic lights at the same time on the B3136 Waterloo Road.

Wessex Water is scheduled to be installing a foul sewer connection, while Western Power Distribution, Wales and West Utilities, and Bristol Water should also be working in trenches under the same lights to avoid extra disruption to traffic.
