Police in Shepton Mallet are cracking down on the illegal use of electric Sur-Ron bikes after reports of anti-social behaviour in Collett Park and surrounding areas.
The neighbourhood team said the bikes are being used in public spaces where they are not legally permitted — posing risks to the public and breaching road safety laws.
A police spokesperson said: "Sur-Ron bikes are classed as off-road electric motorcycles. They cannot be ridden on public roads, pavements, or in parks unless they are fully road-legal, registered, insured, and the rider holds the correct licence."
Riders caught using these vehicles illegally could face prosecution and have their bikes seized under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act.
Officers are urging residents to report sightings of the bikes being used illegally by calling 101 or reporting online.
