Shepton Mallet's Snowdrop Festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary in style this February with its biggest line-up yet.
The milestone year begins on Saturday, 7 February, with a fashion show launch, leading into two weeks of talks, garden trails, guided walks, creative workshops and family-friendly events across town. The main festival weekend takes place on Friday 20 and Saturday 21 February, with fringe events running through to 22 February.
Festival organisers have teamed up with Somerset's finest snowdrop gardens to launch the first-ever Great Snowdrop Gardens Trail. Kilver Court returns as a festival partner, and two private gardens in Wells will open for the first time.
Talks include a headline "In Conversation" between celebrated landscape designer Dan Pearson and Tania Compton. A panel of expert gardeners will offer seasonal tips, featuring James Cross (Bishop's Palace), Arthur Cole (The Newt), Mike Burks (Castle Gardens), and Clare Greenslade (Hestercombe).
There'll be award-winning nurseries, artisan stalls, and hands-on workshops — including willow Kokedama and living wreath making. A Poetry and Photography Trail, plus an exhibition of winning entries, adds to the creative mix.
Family activities remain central to the festival, with free dance, art and storytelling sessions provided by Make the Sunshine and The Professor. Alix Murray also returns with her popular puppet and animation workshop.
Full details and bookings are available via the Shepton Snowdrops website.
