A new series of community walks will return to Shepton Mallet this January, giving residents the chance to get active, socialise and shake off the winter slump.
The walks are free to join and open to all, with varying lengths and difficulty levels. All start from the Market Cross in the town centre, with organisers encouraging people to book early to avoid missing out.
The sessions proved popular last year, bringing the community together, tackling isolation and helping people stay outdoors and moving through the colder months.
Confirmed 2026 walk dates:
- Monday, 1 January – Blow Away the Cobwebs, 11am, approx. 4 miles
- Thursday, 4 January – Station to Station and Beyond, 10am, approx. 5 miles
- Wednesday, 10 January – Clean Sweep for the New Year!, 10am, approx. 6 miles
- Thursday, 18 January – Geology Walk, 10.30am, approx. 5 miles
- Wednesday, 24 January – The Making of Windsor Hill Tunnels, 10am, approx. 6 miles
Spaces are limited and fill quickly. Walk leaders are encouraging early sign-ups to secure a place.
