Shepton Mallet families are being invited to enjoy a free day of films in Collett Park.

Shepton Mallet Town Council has confirmed the line-up for its free outdoor cinema event on Saturday, 9 May.

No booking is needed, with visitors told they can simply turn up on the day.

The screenings will begin at 11 am with children's film Zootropolis 2.

Encanto will follow at 1.30 pm, before Bohemian Rhapsody is shown as the late family film at 5 pm.

People are welcome to bring a picnic, and the council says there will also be a selection of food trucks on site.

The event is being billed as a full day out in the park, with food, films and a family atmosphere.

Shepton Mallet Town Council said: "All invited, no booking needed — just turn up and enjoy the day."

The free cinema event follows an earlier call for residents to help choose the films for this year's outdoor screening programme.
