Shepton Mallet firefighters called to vehicle fire in Evercreech

Firefighters from Shepton Mallet were called to a vehicle fire in Evercreech last night (May 23).

Just before 9.45pm, one crew from Shepton Mallet was mobilised following a call to the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service Control Room of a vehicle on fire on the B3081 Prestleigh Road, in Evercreech.

On arrival at the scene, the crew confirmed there had been a fire within the vehicle and got to work to investigate.

The fire involved a cooling fan within the vehicle, one hose reel was used to damped down and a thermal image camera to check for hot spots.

There was damage caused to the vehicle's engine compartment.
