This weekend, Shepton Mallet transforms into a hub of cultural, musical, and fitness activities, offering something for everyone.

Whether you're a fitness enthusiast, music lover, farm visitor or a churchgoer, Shepton Mallet has you covered.

Crossfest UK South 2023 takes centre stage, showcasing a remarkable fusion of fitness competition and music festival. Set within the Bath & West Showground, this one-of-a-kind event is scheduled for Saturday, 22nd July. Attendees have the opportunity to participate in a Mixed 6's Functional Fitness Competition, followed by a music festival where they can unwind to high-quality tunes. With doors opening from 9 am, the event is a full day of action, entertainment, and camaraderie. Die-hard festival fans can even opt to arrive on Friday evening, set up camp, and extend the festivities till Sunday.

Simultaneously, music will fill the air in a different part of town as the Pilton Stage Party Auditions 2023 takes place. Aspiring artists and bands, including Two Weeks in Nashville, Nahli, and Kurbside Villain, among others, will showcase their talents in hopes of earning a chance to perform at the annual Pilton Party at the renowned Worthy Farm in September. This musical marathon begins at 7 pm on Saturday, echoing the town's vibrant nightlife.

On a peaceful note, the fourth Sunday of the month brings the community together at the Café Church in Evercreech Village Hall. This informal service offers a welcoming environment for all ages, with family-friendly activities and refreshments served from 9:30 am. As the clock strikes 9:50 am, the gathering unites in worship, fostering a strong sense of community spirit.

Adding an adventurous twist to the weekend is the introduction of Helicopter Pleasure Flights on Sunday, 23rd July at the Bath & West Showground. These aerial tours provide a thrilling perspective of Shepton Mallet and the surrounding area, offering unparalleled views of landmarks such as the City of Wells Cathedral. With various flight packages available, thrill-seekers can choose from a quick 6-mile buzz around the local area to an extended 30-minute sightseeing tour.

For those seeking a tranquil escape, a visit to Rock Farm offers a delightful opportunity to connect with nature. Available on Saturday, 22nd July, families can explore the farm from 10 am to 3 pm, making friends with resident animals, including donkeys, goats, and turkeys. It's a pleasant retreat that offers a gentle pace of life in contrast to the bustling weekend activities.
