A caravan park in Shepton Mallet has applied for planning permission to expand its site with an additional 12 holiday lodges.

Bath & West Lodge Park, located off the A37 at Cannards Grave, has submitted an application to Somerset Council to increase the number of units from 25 to 37 as part of a "plan for growth".

The site was originally granted planning permission in 2019, allowing for 25 lodges to be used as holiday accommodation. The proposed expansion aims to boost tourism and bring economic benefits to the area.

According to the application, the additional lodges would be a "relatively minor increase in development" and would "not have any adverse impact on the street scene and surrounding area".
