Shepton Mallet businesses could soon be playing a part behind the scenes of film and TV productions thanks to Screen Somerset.

The initiative connects local suppliers with filming projects across the county, encouraging producers to make use of Somerset companies whenever possible. Last year, filming in the county was estimated to have brought in £4.2m.

Businesses offering everything from catering and accommodation to cleaning and costume hire are being urged to register for free on the Filming in England Supplier Directory.

Samantha Gillie of Filming in England said: "The directory is the perfect way for your business to get noticed by productions whilst building valuable industry connections."
