Shepton Mallet Big Draw to bring community art day
By Laura Linham 12th May 2026
SWEDA and Flock are inviting people in Shepton Mallet to get creative at a free community art event in Collett Park later this month.
The Big Draw will take place on Saturday, 27 June from 10 am until 1 pm, with organisers encouraging people of all ages and artistic abilities to take part.
The event aims to create "a BIG collection of drawings of our community, people and place", while also raising awareness of SWEDA, the Somerset and Wessex Eating Disorders Association.
Entry is free, although donations are welcome.
Organisers said materials will be provided and residents are encouraged to bring friends and family along.
Activities planned for the day include:
- Fun portraits
- Walk N' Draw sessions
- Nature designs
- Print making, with participants invited to bring a T-shirt
- A large community art project
SWEDA supports people affected by eating disorders across the South West, while Flock is a local creative community group.
The event will be held in Collett Park in the centre of Shepton Mallet.
