It was a dead heat for the two elected candidates in Shepton East in the 2019 Mendip District Council elections.

With a turnout of 30.9 per cent, Warren Garfield Kennedy for the Liberal Democrats and Bente Height both got 388 votes to be elected.

Independent Nicholas Tolson received 348 votes, Lib Dem Gavin James Mayall polled 336, just one ahead of the Conservative Party's Jeannette May Marsh, who lost her seat.

Fellow Tory Nigel Ivan Pooley received 258 votes and Labour's Kevin Powell polled 140 vote.
