Santa to arrive in Shepton Mallet this November as Dobbies launches festive event line-up

Shepton Mallet is gearing up for a Christmas to remember as Santa himself prepares to roll into town this November.
Dobbies Garden Centre will launch its packed festive programme on Sunday 23 November, kicking off with Santa's Arrival—a free morning of seasonal storytelling, live performances and festive cheer for all the family.
Families are urged to pre-book for the event, which marks the start of a month-long run of seasonal activities.
Top of the list is the return of Santa's Grotto, transformed this year into a North Pole adventure complete with icy landscapes, immersive activities and a meeting with Santa, who'll be handing out gifts. The grotto runs daily from 23 November to Christmas Eve, with tickets starting at £14 per child.
A special Quiet Grotto session for children with additional needs will be held on Friday 5 December.
Also returning is Santa Paws, a dog-friendly grotto experience that now includes double the booking slots. For £12.50, your dog can meet Santa, take part in a sniff-ari game and go home with a present. It runs from 23 November to 24 December.
Over in the restaurant, Santa's Breakfast starts on Saturday 29 November, offering children a chance to spend time with Santa and his elves, build their own festive toy, and join in games and crafts. Prices start at £18 per child, £9 per adult.
Shoppers can also get in the spirit at the Christmas Shopping Night on Thursday 27 November, with live music, exclusive offers and grotto previews. Tickets are "pay what you can", with proceeds going to Alzheimer's Research UK.
New this year is a Festive Wreath Making and Afternoon Tea Experience, running 29–30 November, which includes a wreath-making workshop and luxury tea for £55 per person.
Tickets went on sale in August and are expected to book out quickly. Families are encouraged to reserve early at dobbies.com.
