Christmas is so close you can taste it in the air. Anything and everything is getting mulled, the Winter Wanderland is in full swing and the nights are cold and frosty.

So, obviously, Santa is warming up his sleigh and is getting ready to come to Shepton Mallet - with a little help from Shambles Carnival Club.

The club have just released Santa's Shepton Schedule, ahead of his visits to the town's residential streets. It's important to note that the schedule may change from time to time, depending on how busy the big man gets, and that sometimes even Santa has bad weather to contend with.

He'll be out between 6pm and 9pm each night, taking in the following places:

Evercreech: Thursday 1st December

• Kingfisher Road & Estate, Bridge Close, Enfield Road, Maesdown Road, Paradise Crescent, Neals Way, Prestleigh Road, Queens Road, Shapway Road & Stoney Stratton (time permitting).

Evercreech: Friday 2nd December

• Stoney Stratton (if not completed the night before), Leighton Lane, Leighton Close, Westbrook Road, Westbrook Vale, Kiln Drive, Victoria Square, The Cedars, Bruton Road, Oxford Street, Weymouth Road, Bounds Close, Weston Town, Beech Way.

Doulting, Cranmore and West Cranmore: Monday 5th December

Shepton Mallet:

• St Peters estate: Tuesday 6th December
• St Peters estate and Sidings Estate: Wednesday 7th December
• Ridgeway Estate: Thursday 8th December
• Shaftgate Avenue, Wickham Way, Cornwall Road, Southfield Road, Summerleaze park, Westfield and Eastfield Road: Friday 9th December

A spokesperson for Shambles Carnival Club said: "We are so excited to spread our cheer once again this year. Once again, we will not be knocking doors this year, but we will be next to Father Christmas with our buckets for donations, so please give if you can."
