Pop-up Co-op supermarket to return to Glastonbury Festival this year
The Co-op is returning to the Glastonbury Festival this year.
It is the second time that the brand has had a presence at the world famous festival in Pilton – it first had a pop-up supermarket in 2019, but the festival was cancelled in 2019 and 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Amanda Jennings, director of marketing live and local at Co-op, said: "Our festival store is returning to Glastonbury this summer and we're thrilled to be able to bring back Co-op's ethical, high-quality and value for money essential items to serve this unique community and help festivalgoers make the most of their experience."
More than 300 lines will be available to purchase in the Co-op store at the Park Home Ground at the festival, including festival essentials, fresh food, food-to-go products and drinks. Co-op's ethical ranges, including Fairtrade lines, 100 percent fresh British meat ranges and plant-based products will be also be available to purchase.
The store will also stock Worthy Farm Reserve Cheddar, which launched exclusively in Co-op stores in 2021, and is created using milk from the dairy herd that are fortunate to call the famous Glastonbury Festival site their home all year round.
In keeping with the ethos of both the Co-op and the Festival which makes sustainability a priority, Co-op will not sell single-use plastic bottles at the store and will offer water in cans and Co-op's own-brand sandwiches will also be sold in easy-to-recycle packaging.
Co-op's soft plastic recycling units will also be made available at the store for customers to return their soft plastics for recycling.
