Performers wowed the crowds at the All the World's Our Playground festival in Shepton Mallet on Saturday.
The day-long festival of performance and creativity saw all kinds of acts from dance to drama to circus skills and even a silent disco.
Louise Lappin-Cook, Director of Make the Sunshine CiC (the organisation behind the festival) said: "It was such a wonderful day and we are so proud of our young Arts Ambassadors who programmed and selected acts for the festival.
"What a privilege to have so many national and international acts in Shepton for the day as part of the festival. PanGottic Circus were a huge hit with audiences, drawing big crowds during their three shows throughout the day. We also had Brave Bold Drama who brought their Company of International Artists to Shepton to solve art crimes with an interactive playable theatre piece as well as aKa Dance Theate Company, an incredible performance from Chapel Dance Studio, The Bookworm Players who brought Alice in Wonderland, Tor Theatre who wow-ed audiences with The Tale of the Rum Tum Diamond, Mojo Moves Silent Disco, Dance Anna, Tall Tails Theatre Company, and Lori Hopkins puppetry who performed Laika the Space Dog.
"The entire event was free thanks to support from Shepton Mallet Town Council, Mendip Communities Fund and Wells Festival of Literature. We are also very grateful to St Paul's Junior School for hosting the event and to the amazing team of volunteers who made this possible! We are already busy looking forward to 2023.
"Thank you so much to everyone who came along yesterday and made it so special. And a huge thank you to our incredible volunteers who made this happen! How lucky we are to have such a supportive community in Shepton - it was such a shared event and would not happen without you all. And to have a Town Council that not only funds events like this but volunteers at them too - thank you so much Shepton Mallet Town Council.
"Thank you as well to the brilliant stalls and pop ups: Kaye from Holly and Hawthorn for the incredible hammocks, slack lines and popcorn, to Sweet11 for the incredible cakes and refreshments, the The Fairy Godmother Shop Shepton and Bowlish Infant School for the brilliant stalls and bringing the extra magic."
