Job hunting in Shepton Mallet? Or just eyeing a career move more thrilling than guessing which bin day it is? Either way, there are options this week — from engineering to education.

If your idea of a good time involves flour, fryer oil, and a stainless-steel clipboard, Compass Group is after a Catering Supervisor to manage food service ops. It's fast-paced and smells mostly of gravy.

For those who enjoy the romance of the open road (or at least don't mind driving in circles), a Delivery Driver job is going, with performance pay and enough routes to learn every Somerset shortcut.

If your classroom control is better than your parking, a Learning Facilitator role supporting SEND pupils could be your thing, or there's a temporary English Teacher post going if you're handy with a red pen and don't mind explaining metaphors five times before lunch.

Industrial types have plenty to choose from: a Packing Operative role on a production line; a Warehouse Team Manager slot overseeing storage and targets; and a Multi Skilled Engineer post for those fluent in spanners and swearing.

If you prefer your engineering with more authority, a Maintenance Supervisor job is live, leading the team on planned and reactive work. Alternatively, drive straight into things with a HGV Class 2 Waste and Recycling Driver job that includes daily vehicle checks and the sort of hi-vis that can stop traffic.

On the care side, there's a Deputy Home Manager post supporting the boss and staff in a residential setting. Ideal if you're organised, calm, and not easily rattled by laundry room politics.
