Months on, no arrests in £2 million Mulberry bags heist at Shepton Mallet

Months have passed since the £2 million burglary at Mulberry's depot in Shepton Mallet, yet no arrests have been made.

The theft, which occurred overnight on 25-26 May, saw thieves cut a hole in the storage facility and use a getaway truck to steal over 2,000 bags.

Despite ongoing investigations, police have yet to make any arrests or recover the stolen items. Avon and Somerset Police continue to work closely with the victims to establish further details.

A spokesperson for the police said: "Enquiries into the incident are ongoing, and we are still appealing to anyone with information to come forward. If you were in the area and recall anything suspicious between 11.30pm on Saturday, 25 May, and 4.30am on Sunday, 26 May, please contact us on 101 and quote reference 5224134621."

Mulberry confirmed at the time that no staff were present during the break-in, and operations have not been affected. The bags stolen, which include high-end models like the Bayswater, remain missing.

A spokesperson for Mulberry confirmed the incident, stating: "We can confirm that the police were alerted to a break-in at our Shepton Mallet site on Sunday, 26th May. No colleagues were on site at the time of the incident and there has been no impact to operations. We are supporting the police with their investigations and cannot comment further on the matter."

The public is urged to contact the police if they have any information that might assist in the ongoing investigation.
