Marie Curie is calling for volunteers in Shepton Mallet to help with fundraising efforts, including distributing and collecting donation boxes throughout the town. The charity, known for providing expert end-of-life care at home, is looking for more hands-on support to continue its vital work in the area.
Hannah Drury, the community fundraiser for Marie Curie in Bristol, Bath, and Somerset, said, "In Shepton Mallet, we urgently need volunteers to assist with our collections and charity boxes. This allows more people the opportunity to donate and support our cause."
Each donation box raises an average of £26, which is enough to fund an hour of nursing care for someone living with a terminal illness. The charity stresses that the volunteer roles are flexible, fulfilling, and offer the chance to make a real difference in the local community.
Marie Curie's services supported over 44,000 people nationally last year, with its comprehensive care in Somerset proving invaluable to those in need. The charity is also looking for volunteers in other local areas, but help is especially needed in Shepton Mallet.
To get involved or learn more, residents are encouraged to contact Marie Curie and help contribute to providing better end-of-life care for everyone in Somerset.
