Man jailed for 27 months after police bust £28.5k cannabis stash in Pilton

A drug dealer has been jailed after cops uncovered a cannabis factory worth nearly £30,000 in Pilton.
Andrew John Westwick, 59, was sentenced to 27 months in prison after police raided his home on East Town Lane in Pilton and discovered around six kilos of cannabis—including plants, resin, and flowering heads.

Officers found four packages stuffed with cannabis in his car, ready to be posted. He was arrested at the scene and later charged with being concerned in the supply of a Class B drug, two counts of possession with intent to supply, and the production of cannabis.

At Bristol Crown Court on Wednesday 3 September, Westwick pleaded guilty to all charges.
DCI Ben Lavender, leading the investigation, said: "Westwick was at the property when officers arrived, and four packages were found in his car that were ready to be posted. He was, therefore, arrested for drugs supply offences.
"We are committed to taking action to protect people, particularly from the harm drug supply creates, because the misery it can cause people and communities is clear."

He added that anyone buying illegal drugs is helping to fund organised crime and the exploitation tied to the drug trade.
