Leigh on Mendip: Pupils at Leigh on Mendip School have been getting their hands dirty this week, planting over 600 daffodil and crocus bulbs in an initiative that combines learning with environmental stewardship.

The school, which places a strong emphasis on outdoor learning, boasts its own forest school site, providing a perfect setting for such green projects.

This engaging activity offers every child at the school a chance to contribute to a project that will see the school grounds burst into colour every spring. It's an exercise in understanding the environment and the importance of nurturing it.

Benji from the school's Eco Club shared his excitement about the project: "I am excited to plant because it will be fun and a bit muddy! In spring they will grow into beautiful flowers. I hope the bees will visit them."

The school extends its thanks to Kaiasm, a Whatley-based company, for their kind donation of the bulbs. Kaiasm specialises in making sense of complex data, developing models that bring clarity and direction to big data challenges. More about their work can be found at https://www.kaiasm.com/.
