This weekend, Shepton Mallet is packed full with a variety of events, promising a fun and engaging time for locals and visitors alike.

This article is kindly sponsored by the Bath and West Showground, home to the upcoming Giant Flea Market on 21st January 2024. With over 250 stalls featuring everything from retro-furniture to sweets, it's a treasure trove for unique finds. Admission is £5.00 per adult, with accompanied children free. Doors open at 09:30.

At the showground, the month wraps up with the Toy & Train Collectors Fair on 28th January, a haven for collectors and hobbyists

While February brings the Somerset Comic Con and Gaming Festival on 3rd February, a dream event for comic book and gaming fans.

But if you're looking for something to do this weekend, embrace your creative side with the Willow Frame Basket event on Saturday. Taking place from 10:00 to 16:00 at 15 Kyte Road. It's a great opportunity to learn a new skill and take home a unique creation. On the same day, from 10:00 to 13:00, the Shepton Mallet Library on 2 Market Place is hosting a Found Poetry Workshop. This workshop is perfect for those who love words and creativity.

If you're into sustainability, the Repair Café at The Art Bank Café, 13 High Street, is the place to be from 11:00 to 13:00. Bring along your broken items and learn how to give them a new lease of life. Later, at 17:00, don't miss the much-anticipated return of Pop's Thai Kitchen at The Alhampton Inn.

Music lovers, your evening is sorted with The Pilton Stage Heat 3, from 19:00 to 23:30 at The Pilton Stage, St Mary's Lane, Pilton. Experience the local music scene and support emerging talent.

On 14th January, start your Sunday with a reflective moment at the Holy Communion service at St John The Baptist's Church, Shop Lane, Pilton, from 09:30 to 10:15.

For a weekend filled with creativity, community, and unique experiences, Shepton Mallet is the place to be.
