Shepton Mallet is gearing up for the much-anticipated 2024 Innovator Awards, with nominations set to open on 15th January 2024.

The event is a celebration of the diverse business community that thrives in the town.

The Innovator Awards are designed to recognize and honour the extraordinary efforts and achievements of businesses and entrepreneurs in Shepton Mallet. These awards showcase the commitment and innovation of local businesses in serving and supporting the community.

Eight distinct categories have been announced for the awards, covering a broad spectrum of industries and sectors. These categories include New Business, Hospitality, Food and Drink Producers, Retail and Professional Service Business, Manufacture and Production, Wellbeing, Sports and Leisure, Arts, Culture and Heritage, and Community Groups. This diverse range of categories ensures that businesses of all types and sizes from Shepton Mallet and surrounding areas such as Pylle, Prestleigh, Evercreech, Pilton, Oakhill, Croscombe, and Doulting can participate and be recognized for their contributions.

The panel of judges for this year's awards comprises esteemed local business leaders. Susan Ayton, founder and managing director of Ayton Global Research Ltd, brings her extensive experience in global research and business growth. Trish Mason, founder of two international award-winning companies, offers insights into international business development and community art support. Nicola Fensham, Somerset Business Hub Co-ordinator, adds her valuable knowledge from her long tenure at Mendip District Council and her experience as a local business owner.

Nominations for the awards open on 15th January and close on 11th February, providing a window of opportunity for businesses to put forward their names or nominate others who have made significant contributions to the local economy and community.

The Innovator Awards are not just an opportunity to celebrate success but also a platform for local businesses to gain recognition and further their impact within the community. It's a testament to the thriving business environment in Shepton Mallet and the surrounding areas.
