Dobbies Shepton Mallet launches summer activities for kids during school holidays

Children in Shepton Mallet will have the chance to get hands-on with garden-inspired crafts this summer, as Dobbies brings back its Little Seedlings Holiday Club.
The free sessions are aimed at children aged four to ten and will run on selected days throughout July and August at the Dobbies garden centre on Fosse Lane. The theme this year is Summer Scents, focusing on sensory play and exploration.
During the workshops, children will learn about the scents of summer — from fragrant herbs to the science behind why flowers smell the way they do. The sessions also include a short history of perfume-making, and each child will create their own petal perfume to take home.
The events are part of Dobbies' wider effort to offer low-cost family-friendly activities during the school break. More details, including dates and how to book, are available at dobbies.com/events.
Alongside the holiday club, the garden centre café is also running a kids eat for £1 offer — where children under 16 can enjoy breakfast or lunch for £1 with any adult main meal purchased.
While the activities are hosted in-store, the aim is to offer families an affordable way to enjoy the holidays — especially when budgets are tight and days out need to be both fun and accessible.
