Shepton Mallet volunteering stall set for market

Shepton Mallet Town Council will host a special Volunteering Week stall at the Friday Market on Friday, 5 June.
The stall will run at Market Cross from 8.30 am to 1 pm, giving residents the chance to meet local organisations looking for volunteers.
The council says the event is aimed at anyone who has thought about volunteering and wants to find out what roles are available locally.
Groups due to be represented include Windsor Hill Refuge, Shepton Mallet Bowls Club, AFC Shepton Mallet, Shepton Mallet Lantern Festival, Flock Arts Group, Shepton Snowdrops, Mendip Credit Union and Shepton Men's Shed.
Residents will be able to speak to local groups, learn more about their work and find out how to get involved in the community.
