Covid-19: In the fight together in Shepton Mallet

News from the front... "Who do you think you are kidding COVID-19, if you think old Shepton's done"?

"Doomed, we're all doomed", is the cry of any COVID-19 germs here at Shepton Mallet Ambulance Platoon.

All the members of the platoon are working really hard and are taking the cleaning of our ambulances very seriously.

The trucks are constantly being wiped down, sprayed and mopped out to keep them safe so no cross-contamination can take place between patients.

We intend to eradicate any possibility of infection to the best of our ability.

In the photo you can see Private Ransom (L) and Lance Corporal Freeman (R), long-standing members of the Ambo Army.

Please note the aggressive stance taken, brushes are held high in the at the ready position and you can see the steely and warlike glint in L/Cpl Freeman's eyes - very frightening!

During the photo shoot he could also be heard muttering: "They don't like it up 'em".

We are so grateful for all of the kind donations that have been made to us this week, in particular a mention must go to:

Jenny Dallimore for the donation of Easter Eggs from Morrison's in Wells

The Mendip Kitchen Cafe for the drinks and snacks

Denelas for the hot cross buns

Caroline Gibbs of Swallowcliffe Interiors for our laundry bags

Morale status..... remains at "High"

Threat status..... "Concerning"

We are very well provided for with PPE, however we were all very saddened within our 'Green family' to hear reports of the death of a member of London Ambulance Service to COVID19 on Sunday. All our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of our departed colleague.

Keep waving at us when you see us out and about and thank you for all of your loud clapping on Thursday evenings.

Enjoy the sunshine, keep safe and look after each other and remember HM Government advice:

"Stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives".

Thank you.

  • No PPE was hurt during the making of this article, it was recycled back into the fight.
