THE EAST SOMERSET RAILWAY REMEMBERS DAVID SHEPHERD
A brand new exhibition opens on Saturday 20th July at the East Somerset Railway which pays tribute to the late founder of the railway, David Shepherd. David's great passions, steam engines and wildlife painting and conservation are celebrated in this fabulous new exhibition, housed in an ex-passenger carriage at the ESR site in Cranmore. The stunning displays and memorabilia give a fascinating insight into the life of this charismatic character who founded the ESR in 1974. The David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation, davidshepherd.org, which continues to be run by David's daughters, has a prominent position in the exhibition. The exhibition will be open weekends, Wednesdays and Thursdays until the end of October.
