Shepton Mallet gymnasts scoop medals at Rising Stars

Athletes from SheptonMalletGymnasticsClub, under Head Coach ClareTanner, took part in the RisingStars2025 competition at the CityofBristol GymnasticsClub in Hartcliffe, Bristol, on Sunday19October. The club, which carries out training at the site of the former prison in SheptonMallet, brought coaches, judges and family support to the event.
The young gymnasts competed across girls' and boys' age groups, with performances in floor, vault and trampette. They returned home with a strong selection of medals and trophies.
Girls' results:
- Under7s: Aoife – Overall Champion; Gold on Floor; Silver Vault; Bronze Trampette. Dusty – Gold Trampette; Bronze Vault; 4th Floor; 4th overall.
- Under9s: Lyla – Bronze Vault. Emily – Silver overall; Gold Trampette; Silver Vault; 4th Floor. Ava – 4th Vault.
- Under11s: Delsie – Bronze Vault; 4th Trampette; 4th overall. Amelia – 5th Trampette; 5th Floor; 6th overall.
Boys' results:
- Under7s: Albie – Overall Champion; Gold Trampette; Gold Vault; 4th Floor. Leo – Silver Trampette.
- Under9s: Felix – 4th Vault; 5th Trampette; 6th Floor; 6th overall. Max – 8th Trampette; 8th Vault.
- Under11s: Wesley – Silver overall; Gold Trampette; Silver Floor; Silver Vault. Leo – 4th Trampette; 5th Vault; 5th Floor; 5th overall. Frank – 6th overall; 4th Floor; 6th Trampette; 6th Vault.
The club's results reflect dedication from athletes, coaching staff and families. The club's training venue at the former prison site in SheptonMallet demonstrates local commitment to gymnastics development despite unconventional premises.
The club will build on this performance ahead of further competitions scheduled later in the year. Family and spectators are encouraged to support upcoming sessions and club events.
