Shepton Mallet's Christmas lights will be switched on at 4:15pm on Sunday, 30 November, with a full day of festive activities planned in the town centre. The event runs from 11am to 5pm, with the lights-on moment marking the official start of the Christmas season.
This year's celebration is a joint effort with Shepton Mallet Sunday Market, creating a packed programme of entertainment, food, and family fun.
What's happening on the day:
• Christmas lights switch-on at 4:15pm
• Festive market with gifts, food and drink
• Santa's Grotto for children
• Live music, DJs and performances
• Creative kids' workshops
• Street food and festive treats
Stalls will line the streets offering local produce, handmade gifts and seasonal favourites, while DJs and live acts bring a party atmosphere throughout the day. Families can meet Santa, take part in craft sessions and enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of the season.
Organisers are promising a big community turnout and plenty of Christmas cheer as Shepton lights up for the holidays.
