The fire service received a call to a female at Glastonbury festival who was trapped by her leg under a concrete post. A fire engine from Shepton Mallet attended the site along with the ambulance service and got to work to release the female.
Crews used electronic lifting gear and blocks to lift the concrete post and release the casualty. Injuries were sustained to the casualties upper and lower left leg. Duty of care was left with the site manager and paramedic.

The 2019 NASS Festival

Organisers of the NASS Festival, which was held last month at the Bath and West Showground near Shepton Mallet, have arranged a meeting next week so they can address any concerns from local residents.

A spokesperson said: "The NASS Festival team would like to meet with local residents at the Crossways Hotel, North Wootton, in the King Arthur Suite, on Monday August 5th at 7pm.

Location: Somerset Close, Shepton Mallet, Somerset.

2 Fire engines from Shepton Mallet were sent to the above location to reports of a fire in the area.
On arrival, crews confirmed this to be a shed, well alight, which had spread to fence panels and hedgerows.
The fire was extinguished using 1 hose reel jet.  The shed and fence was destroyed by fire.
