Sunday 21st November saw several members of Shepton Judo Club travel alongside their coach Dianne White to Kettering in Northamptonshire for the BJC national Judo Championships.

All the players fought fantastically well, with Sophia achieving Gold, Aethan achieving Silver, Bertie also achieved Silver, with Dan just missing out on a bronze medal after competing in the adult age group, due to lack of competitors in the under 16s. Dan certainly did the club very proud stepping up to the plate against players much older than himself.

Shepton Judo club is a friendly, hard working and social club with over 150 members, including whole families from 5 to over 60. The club caters to all including national/international competitors to every level of recreational judoko.

Shepton Judo club trains weekly at Doulting and West Pennard, it is open to anyone over the age of 5 to come and give it a go. Complete beginners and returning players are made most welcome. Why not get the kids to give it a go, help build their confidence in a safe fun environment, with some of Britain's finest players? Or get started on that fitness regime you promised yourself, during the dark winter nights? For more information call or text Dianne on 07940 716737 or search Facebook for sheptonjudoclub.
