Shepton Mallet AFC 4, Bridgwater United FC 2

SHEPTON pulled off a great win against table toppers and previously-unbeaten Bridgwater United in the Jewson Western League Premier Division on Tuesday, 8 September.

The visitors enjoyed more possession in the first period but Shepton repelled their attacks relatively comfortably with keeper Harry Charlesworth only required to make one good stop up to the break, while Shepton made one of their own few chances count, after Harry Warwick beat the visiting keeper after 20 minutes.

They doubled their advantage soon after the restart with another Warwick finish at close range. To their credit Bridgwater hit back with 2 goals on 65 and 79 minutes, the score being 2-2 with very little time remaining.

The Mallet regained the lead almost immediately through Connor Williams and scored a fourth goal when Ali Sen hit the back of the net.

This was Shepton's best win of the season to date.
