Window Wanderland is a fun community project that started in Bristol in 2015, and this year Shepton Mallet will host its own unique event in March 2020.

Somerset's leaders are divided about the best way to govern their county, and therefore Shepton Mallet, in the years ahead.
Somerset County Council and the four district councils have been working together since May 2018 to find a way to fund public services most effectively in the future.

New research carried out at Barts and University College London has shown that training for and completing a marathon can cut four years off an individual's vascular age – and that those who are less fit benefit the most.
The researchers tested 138 people due to take part in this year's London Marathon. Over a period of six months their arteries gained elasticity, reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke.

Avon and Somerset Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a man suffered serious injuries in a two-vehicle collision on the A371 near Shepton Mallet.
It happened at the entrance to the Bath and West Showground, at about 6.15am on Saturday January 4.

Local personal trainer Allan Barnard has opened a fitness studio based at the Bath and West Showground, near Shepton Mallet, and has kicked off his fitness bootcamps this week.
These sessions are a fun, challenging and sociable way of achieving your fitness, health and weight goals, and take place at 6.30am for 45 minutes, Monday, Wednesday and Friday; with a free taster session for any new members.
Online surveys are giving Somerset residents the chance to comment on and help shape a Climate Emergency Strategy for the county.
To complement the surveys, a series of drop-in events will give people the opportunity to get involved and find out how the five councils in Somerset are working together on their approach to the climate emergency and how they aim to reduce carbon emissions by 2030.
