The Senior Coroner for Somerset has confirmed that the woman who died after an incident in Collett Park Pond in Shepton Mallet on Saturday (January 25), was 96 years old.
Avon and Somerset Police were called to reports of a woman in the pond in Collett Park at about 8am on Saturday.

There will be temporary traffic lights at the roundabout where Westfield meets the B3136 in Shepton Mallet this week.
The multi-way lights will be in place from 9.30am to 3.30pm from Monday January 27 until February 12, and they will be manually controlled.

A woman has died in hospital after an incident in Collett Park pond, Shepton Mallet, this morning (January 25).
Avon and Somerset Police were called to reports of a woman in the pond in Collett Park at about 8am.
Collett Park in Shepton Mallet has reopened following an incident this morning (January 25).
Avon and Somerset Police closed off the park at all the entrances early this morning, and this meant the Shepton Parkrun was cancelled.
Improvements to the drainage system in Bruton town centre are taking place next week.
Due to the need for deep excavations under the road it will be necessary to close the road 24/7 to keep the public and workforce safe.

David Tennant has been in Shepton Mallet this week filming scenes for a new ITV drama on the arrest and trial of serial killer Dennis Nilson.
ITV have confirmed that the former Doctor Who and Broadchurch star has been filming in Shepton Mallet Prison this week for the three-part drama, which will be called Des.
