Shepton Mallet University of the Third Age (U3A) has announced the speakers for the next four months, and the subjects promise to be as entertaining as they are diverse.
The U3A's March speaker meeting takes place tomorrow (March 5) and will feature Tim Bruce with his talk Changing Things One Pedal at a Time.

Window Wanderland launches in Shepton Mallet on Thursday (March 5) and it will see the Anglo Trading Estate illuminated in full Technicolour for the opening night.
The launch at the Anglo will be open from 7pm with the official switch on at 7.15pm. On display at the Anglo will be windows created by students from St Paul's Junior School and residents from Field House care home who worked together to choose and design some iconic figures that represent Shepton's history.

Two footpaths have been closed until further notice in Somerset Wildlife Trust reserves near Shepton Mallet due to ash dieback disease.
The trust has closed a path running through Home Wood, part of its Harridge Wood Reserve in Nettlebridge, and a season permissive loop in its Edford Wood Reserve near Holcombe, which is usually open February to May to view spring wildflowers.
