Plans are in place to ensure Shepton Mallet's bin collections are not disrupted by the coronavirus.
The Somerset Waste Partnership (SWP) carries out waste collections across the entire county, and is in the process of rolling out its new Recycle More scheme which will see more items collected at the kerbside for recycling.
A new volunteer group to help keep Shepton Mallet's Collett Park in tip-top condition and maintain its Green Flag status is being launched tonight (March 11).
The first open meeting of Friends of Collett Park, spearheaded by Shepton Mallet Town Council, is being held at the SWEDA offices in Harvest Court, Park Road.

In his first visit to troops deployed overseas, Minister for the Armed Forces James Heappey visited troops stationed on the Sovereign Base Area (SBA) in Cyprus.
On a three-day visit, Mr Heappey - who is MP for the Wells Constituency which includes Shepton Mallet - met with members of the UK Armed Forces deployed on a range of different missions as well as Cypriot Defence Minister Savvas Angelides.

A nurse who worked in Shepton Mallet has been struck off after he cleared patients for surgery despite their blood pressure being too high.
David Piers Wynburne worked at the Shepton Mallet NHS Treatment Centre, which is run for the NHS by private healthcare company Care UK.
Temporary traffic lights will again return to the A371 Cannard's Grave Road, in Shepton Mallet, this week for another different set of roadworks.
The lights will be in place outside of the Shireways development from Monday March 9 to Thursday March 12.
