Lost in Blue at Croscombe Village Hall
"Lost in Blue" written & performed by Debs Newbold - Croscombe Village Hall – Sunday 12 March at 7.00pm
On her 18th birthday Annie becomes convinced that she's responsible for the accident that has left her father Paul in a coma for the last 15 years. Her mother Sarah is struggling to keep things together, her aunt Candy eats optimism for breakfast and her new friend Leonard talks mainly to pigeons.
Meanwhile, Paul is hiding out in the bedroom of Vincent Van Gogh, nursing his guilt while the clock ticks and his family begin to question how long the machines should keep him holding on.

Live: Manos Puestas Trio - Fri, 10 March 2023, 7pm-1-pm, The Art Bank Cafe, Shepton Mallet
Comprising 2 guitars, vocals and double bass, the Trio has many years experience between them, and all members have played throughout Europe including Montreux Jazz, WOMAD and Glastonbury Festivals
Re-interpreting jazz standards in a different style, Jon Lewis and Matt Sullivan play guitar with a Flamenco technique – that's right, not a plectrum to be seen! This brings a unique feel to the tunes, particularly those of Django Reinhardt, Charlie Parker and Thelonious Monk.
In 2014, Matt Watson of Oxford based Cuban big-band Ran Kan Kan joined them on double bass and vocals, enhancing the Latin feel and leaving lots of room for improvisation and up-beat danceable rhythms.
Doors open at 7, bar till 11. Music from 8/ 8.30.
Playing at Wells Film Centre this week:
- Champions [12A]
- 65 [12A]
