An urgent 24-hour closure of the A361 in Pilton this weekend has been agreed by Somerset County Council on behalf of a utility firm to fix a burst water mains.

Whitstone Hill in Pilton will be closed from 5pm tomorrow (March 27) for 24 hours while important work is carried out to repair the mains which is leaking at a substantial rate.

Residents will continue to have access to their properties while the work is carried out.

A diversion will be in place – the council says this will cause some inconvenience but the contractor is aiming to ensure work is completed by Sunday afternoon.
