The Shepton Hub Covid vaccination clinic to reopen next week

The Shepton Hub will back and delivering Covid vaccinations from next week.

The clinic will still be based at Haskins, but in a larger, accessible unit next to Screwfix. (Unit B, Haskins Retail Centre, Townsend BA4 5AX)

Covid boosters will be available to those ag 50+, as well as those aged 5yrs-49yrs in a clinical risk group or with learning disabilities. Health & Social Care staff & Care Home residents will be eligible for a Covid booster to offer protection over this coming winter.

The vaccine being offered will be the new bivalent vaccine which has been designed to offer more protection against the Omicron variants.

The plan is for the clinic to open 2-4 days per week (which will include a Saturday) from 9.45am - 4.15pm.

The first appointments for those aged 75yrs and over will be released on Monday  (September. 5). You can book these appointments on the National Booking Site here https://www.nhs.uk/.../coro.../book-coronavirus-vaccination/ or by calling 119.

Appointments will also be available for people aged 12 and over who need their first, second or booster vaccines, and for anybody who is immunosuppressed and 12 weeks since their last Covid vaccine.

In order to ensure the smooth running of the clinic, the Shepton Hub is looking for volunteer marshals to help out.
