Shepton Mallet is pulling out all the stops this Christmas, offering a wide range of events to get everyone into the festive spirit. Whether you're shopping for unique gifts at the Giant Flea Market or enjoying live music at the Breathe Ensemble concert, there's something for all ages and interests.

Here's your guide to making the most of the seasonal celebrations.

Wells Cathedral School brings the iconic musical West Side Story to Strode Theatre. This retelling of Romeo and Juliet is packed with unforgettable songs and poignant drama. The show runs until 7 December, with a matinee on 6 December. Get your tickets here.

Friday, 6 December is a feast for music lovers. The Glastonbury Cantilena Choir will perform Haydn's Mass of St Nicholas at St Mary's Church. Over in Shepton Mallet, the Bridgerton Christmas Ball at Camerton Hall offers glamour and festive cheer. Guests can enjoy a three-course meal, live entertainment, and a disco, all while supporting a great cause. Tickets are £60. Get your tickets here.

On Saturday, 7 December, there's plenty to see and do. The Christmas Family Fun Day at the Ammerdown Centre near Radstock offers everything from a Christmas market to Santa's grotto and tombola. Entry is free, with Santa's grotto costing £5 per child. Plan your day here.

Art lovers can visit Georgina Towler's contemporary landscape paintings at the Somerset Rural Life Museum in Glastonbury. This exhibition opens on 7 December and runs until February, featuring works inspired by Somerset's landscapes. Details here.

Music fans are in for a treat as the world's No. 1 Pink tribute act takes to the stage at Studio24 in Wells. Featuring Vicky Jackson and a full live band, this energetic production recreates performances from Pink's live concert tours. Tickets start at £11. Get yours here.

For the creatively inclined, Shepton Mallet Library is hosting a Found 'In Christmas' Poetry Workshop. Led by Polly Hall, participants can use existing texts to create unique Christmas cards. Tickets are £7. Sign up here.

On Sunday, 8 December, the Breathe Ensemble will perform moving piano trios at St Peter and St Paul's Church in Shepton Mallet. The concert features emotional works by Smetana and Fauré. Learn more here.
