Shepton Mallet prepares for full geek mode as Somerset Comic Con returns this September

Clear your diary, charge your Joy-Cons, and dust off that plasma rifle — Somerset Comic Con and Gaming Festival is back at the home of our sponsors, the Bath & West Showground, on Saturday 27 September 2025, and it's got more easter eggs than an Ubisoft side quest.
Running from 10am to 4.30pm, this year's event is packed with cult classics, collectibles and cosplay chaos. Whether you're a D&D dungeon crawler, Warhammer warlord, or still recovering from Elden Ring, there's something here to trigger your inner nerd.
Expect aisles stacked with rare comics, fan art, Manga must-haves, and stalls selling everything from Ghibli gear to FNAF merch. Got a soft spot for The Mandalorian? The Witcher? Sailor Moon? You'll find it here — probably stitched into a handmade hoodie or mounted on a keychain.
The Gaming Zone promises a proper nostalgia trip: think N64 showdowns, Dreamcast relics, and a shot at reliving your Tekken glory days — or trying VR without tripping over someone's tail.
There'll be screen-used props, sci-fi vehicles, and at least one suspiciously lifelike xenomorph lurking about. Doctor Who fans can pose with the TARDIS. Potterheads can argue over house placement. Trekkies and Star Wars die-hards can side-eye each other across the car park. All's fair.
And yes — the cosplay competition is back. Expect at least 800 Harley Quinns, Deadpools and Princess Leias (minimum), plus a few creative curveballs, like Victorian Bowser or a gender-swapped Geralt.
Tickets start at £7.50 on Eventbrite — and in true con fashion, once they're gone, they're gone.
