Shepton Mallet is set to take off this summer – quite literally – as Balloons and Tunes UK prepares to land at the Bath & West Showground for a weekend of high-flying fun.

Running from Friday 11 July to Saturday 12 July, the two-day event promises everything from monster trucks and motocross stunts to tribute acts and foam parties – topped off with the spectacular SkySafari® Night Glow balloon display (weather permitting).

Friday's line-up includes reduced-price funfair rides, stunt shows, and a mass balloon ascent, before the Night Glow lights up the sky at 9.40pm. On Saturday, it's full throttle with Bluey and Bingo meet-and-greets, wrestling shows, a kids' rave, and even a visit from Bumblebee and Optimus Prime. There's also a full schedule of tribute performances on the main stage – with acts channelling the likes of Elton John, Steps, Vengaboys, Ariana Grande and Dolly Parton.

Giant inflatables, superhero wheel shows and live animal encounters will run throughout the day, with BMX, parkour and freestyle motocross displays keeping the adrenaline flowing. When the sun sets, fire eaters will take over the stunt arena before Saturday's final balloon glow at 9.40pm.

Tickets start at £6.99 for Friday and £8.99 for Saturday, with weekend passes from £42.36. Children under 3 go free, and parking is free but must be booked in advance.

All events are subject to weather and change, particularly balloon launches, which depend on stable conditions.
