The Dairy Show 2024 will see top exhibitors from across the country competing in various breed classes for the Supreme Champion title.

The Dairy Show is gearing up for its return to the Bath & West Showground on Wednesday, 2nd October, and organisers are promising a packed day of action, learning, and networking for the dairy community. With over 250 trade stands, a full line-up of cattle competitions, and a seminar series focused on careers in agriculture, it's set to be a must-attend event for farmers and industry professionals.

Spotlight on careers

One of the big draws this year is the seminar series titled "Udderly Agricultural Careers", which aims to cover a range of career pathways, whether you're new to the industry, looking for a change, or trying to recruit and retain top talent. The seminars will also be BASIS registered, meaning CPD points are up for grabs for those eligible.

The organisers are also offering student rate tickets and group discounts, making it an ideal opportunity for local agricultural college students to gain insight into the industry.

Action-packed judging ring

The cattle competitions are set to be fierce, with 57 classes spanning five breeds and the 'Any Other Breed' category. Exhibitors from across the UK will go head-to-head in a bid for the coveted Supreme Champion title. The show will also host the Jersey Cattle Society of the UK and the English Guernsey Cattle Society's National Shows, giving breed enthusiasts plenty to look forward to.

Trade stands and member perks

The Dairy Show's extensive range of trade stands will showcase everything from cutting-edge dairy technology to livestock feed, making it a one-stop shop for anyone involved in dairy farming. Visitors can pick up a free show programme on arrival, listing all exhibitors and events throughout the day.

For Royal Bath & West Society members, there are some exclusive perks, including free entry to the show and access to the Members Lounge in the Somerset Room of the Showering Pavilion, where complimentary tea and coffee will be available all day. Members will also benefit from a 10% discount at the Thatchers Bar & Restaurant in the Wessex Pavilion by showing their 2024 Membership card.
