Primary school celebrates science award with Open Days for prospective parents.

St Aldhelm's Church School, on the Shepton Mallet side of Doulting, is celebrating after achieving the prestigious Primary Science Quality Mark, highlighting its commitment to high standards in science leadership, teaching, and learning.

Head of School, Amanda Phillips, said: "2023-2024 was an exciting year for science at St Aldhelm's. Staff received specialist training, and the children enjoyed a range of collaborative projects led by our Science Subject Leader, Mrs Pickett. The highlight was our first-ever Science Fair, which was a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to engage with hands-on experiments and presentations."

St Aldhelm's will be showcasing its achievements and offering a glimpse into school life at its upcoming Open Days, giving prospective parents and families a chance to explore the school's curriculum and see its ethos of 'Learning together for life in all its fullness' in action.

Open Day dates:

  • Tuesday, 15th October: 9.30am – 3pm
  • Saturday, 19th October: 9.30am – 12pm
  • Tuesday, 19th November: 9.30am – 3pm

If these dates aren't convenient, families can get in touch to arrange a separate visit.

Amanda Phillips added, "We want to show the community how our values of Belief, Aspiration, and Advocacy support our pupils in achieving their potential."
