A new family-run gift shop at Kilver Court & Gardens in Shepton Mallet will celebrate its opening on Saturday, 17 October. Oh, Lovely! began trading last week, with its launch event starting at 10am.

Local shop manager Maisie and her brother George have drawn on their experience in the gift and lifestyle trade to stock the business. Its range includes homeware, jewellery, cards, wrapping paper, home fragrance and children's gifts, including products from independent British brands.

"We're so excited to finally be open and part of Kilver Court & Gardens," said Maisie. "As a family, we wanted to create somewhere that feels warm and welcoming, where you can find something a little bit special, whether that's a birthday present, a treat for your home or a little something just for you.

"Being local, it means a lot to have our own shop here. We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has already popped in and chosen to shop local. Every purchase, big or small, really does make a difference to a small family business like ours. Saturday is our way of saying thank you, and we'd love to see lots of new faces too."

The opening event will include a glass of fizz for visitors throughout the day. The first 30 customers spending more than £25 will also receive a goodie bag containing items from brands stocked in the shop.
