What's On in Shepton Mallet is brought to you by the Bath & West Showground — home to the biggest events in Somerset — and La Bella Italian Restaurant, where every meal tastes like a holiday in Italy.

Putting on a tarot night, Tupperware swap or kazoo orchestra for lunar justice in Shepton? You can nub your event for free here.

Shepton's got its hands full this week — mostly with things being mended, stitched, dug up or sampled. The Repair Café is back in action, volunteers at the Art Bank armed with sewing kits and screwdrivers.

Over at the Walled Garden, apples are ready for tasting and edible plants are up for grabs. Meanwhile, Mendip Rocks continues its earthy reign with fossil fun and geology for all ages. Throw in a 300-stall collectors' fair and a bit of soul-searching via the Enneagram, and it's safe to say Shepton isn't slowing down.

In Glastonbury today (Thursday), the Unsung women in Somerset talk kicks off at 2.30 pm in the Town Hall, where author Helen Pugh gives Somerset's forgotten heroines their moment — £2 gets you the talk, tea, biscuits and a raffle ticket. Earlier in the day, 10.30 am–noon, it's time to sing, shake and sound-bathe at Sounds Joyful at St John's Church Hub — dementia-friendly, music-heavy, cake-inclusive.

Saturday is a big one. Wells has stitched up the agenda with the opening of Memories through stitch, running daily until 18 October at Wells Museum — closed Sunday and Monday, mind. At Deeper Balance Studio in South Horrington, the Women's wellness morning is part qigong, part meditation, part menopause survival club. In the evening, RNLI Mendip folk night – Jon Wilks hits St James Church Centre in Winscombe.

Meanwhile in Shepton, Repair Café volunteers are fixing your knackered gadgets, togs and toys from 11 am–1 pm at The Art Bank. Not far off, Studying Jupiter's atmosphere lands in Oakhill Village Hall — Simon Toogood brings telescope data down to earth.

And in Glastonbury, storyteller Tracy Wise hosts Once upon a Yes And!, blending improv games with a mural trail walk. Shepton's Mendip Rocks Festival is also in full swing, with geology-themed everything across the area.

On Sunday, Wells goes full foodie with the Wells Food Festival featuring — nearly 200 traders, kids' cookery, English wine and it's all free.

The Toy & Train Collectors Fair also returns to Shepton's Bath & West Showground, while over in Street, Michael Bublé tribute croons into The Loft It's also day two of the mural trail improv stroll, Once upon a Yes And!, if you missed Saturday.

On Tuesday, Glastonbury shimmies into Turkish belly dance classes. No experience needed — just turn up, try a hip circle, and don't pull anything.

On Wednesday, East Pennard's Nursery open day and apple tasting gives Shepton a shot of late-season plant advice — and free apple samples. Also, The Ammerdown Centre near Radstock hosts the start of a three-day Enneagram course: bring self-awareness and a pen.

Running a sound bath, sock puppet protest or moonlit Morris dance for parking reform? Go on then - don't be shy – nub your Shepton event here and let the locals know.
