This weekend, Shepton Mallet transforms into a veritable playground of the peculiar, the profound, and the purely playful.

The Bristol Classic Motorcycle Show revs into action at the Bath & West Showground, promising a two-day extravaganza from 24th February to 25th February 2024. Doors open at 09:30, inviting enthusiasts to Britain's greatest annual celebration of yesteryear's motorcycles. Admission is £18 on the gate, offering a family-friendly atmosphere that's a magnet for enthusiasts, club members, and traders alike. This show is more than just a display; it's a competition for the 'best stand' award, featuring everything from showroom-condition motorcycles to rustic barn-finds. With trade stands, club stands, private entries, and autojumble, it's a must-visit for anyone with even a passing interest in the motorcycle scene. More info here.

Not far from the roar of engines, The Old Stores Studio in Evercreech offers a serene counterpoint with a workshop to make your cotton kimono. This free event on Saturday, 24th February, from 10:00 to 15:00, promises a creative escape and a new addition to your wardrobe.

As the evening approaches, why not test your nerves with a Full Moon Ghost Hunt at the prison in Shepton Mallet? Starting at 18:00 and running till 23:00, it's an adventure for those intrigued by the paranormal. Or, if you prefer a challenge of wits, the Quiz Night at Jubilee Hall in Batcombe at 19:00 offers a night of brain teasers and laughs.

Theatre lovers are in for a treat with "Maybe Dick - A Parody by John Hewer" at Jubilee Hall Ditcheat at 19:30. It promises an evening of laughter and entertainment. For a change of pace, the Nasty Habits band is set to rock Bruton Club at 21:00, offering a perfect wrap to a Saturday night.

Continuing the cultural feast into Sunday, 25th February, cinema enthusiasts can enjoy "Double Indemnity" at West Pennard Village Hall from 15:30, offering a dive into classic film noir.

The weekend rounds off with a Clairvoyant Evening with Melanie Kellaway at Cannards Well at 19:00, providing a spiritual note to the end of a vibrant weekend.
