Preparations are well underway for the Mid-Somerset Show in August, a traditional one-day agricultural showcase in Shepton that brings together town and country with an array of activities and exhibits designed to cater to all ages and interests.

The show is free to visit, with a parking fee of £20, making it a value-packed day for families.

Attendees can look forward to new breed-specific livestock classes featuring cattle, pigs, and sheep, alongside the popular Sheep Show.

Equine enthusiasts will be treated to a range of classes including heavy horses, driving, hunter classes, and show jumping.

Beyond livestock, the show extends its offerings to poultry displays, arts and crafts, and a flower show that includes floral art.

Those with a penchant for nostalgia will enjoy the exhibitions of classic cars and vintage vehicles.

Food and drink remain a cornerstone of the event, with the prestigious Cheese Awards and the Somerset Cider Championships providing visitors with the chance to sample and celebrate local produce.

Main Ring entertainment will keep the crowd engaged with activities like scurry racing, dog and duck shows, and the grand parade of winning livestock.

For more information - or to book a stall at the event, visit the show's website.
