Shepton Mallet Town Council has approved a significant investment to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the town's maintenance services.

During the last full council meeting, councillors unanimously agreed to bring the grounds team operation in-house and allocate up to £81,200.

This substantial investment will fund the purchase of essential materials and equipment, ensuring that the town's maintenance team has the necessary tools to maintain Shepton Mallet's public spaces to a high standard.

The decision comes in the face of Somerset Council's cost-cutting measures.

This proactive move by the Town Council aims to ensure that Shepton Mallet's public spaces remain well-maintained and enjoyable for residents and visitors alike.
