The Commercial Road roundabout in Shepton Mallet will be closed this week so the roadworks there can be completed.

The roundabout will be shut in the evenings from 6.30pm to 11pm from Monday November 18 to Friday November 22.

Road safety improvement works are the reason for the closure, and this includes the resurfacing of the mini roundabout, improvements to approach lanes, road markings, lighting and drainage works.

Other roadworks in Shepton Mallet this week include:

On Friday, there will be temporary traffic lights on the B3136 in between the viaduct and Right Price DIY, to enable Wessex Water to repair a sewer.

From Monday to Wednesday November 20, there will be temporary traffic lights on the B3136 between the Tesco roundabout and Board Cross to enable Wessex Water to undertake some repairs.

On Wednesday, a dangerous tree will be removed along the A371 Wells Road, close to the sewage treatment works.

From Monday until Friday, Wales and West Utilities will be laying a new service in Forum Lane, and Western Power Distribution will be changing over poles in Southfield Road.

From Tuesday to Thursday November 19 to 21, Bristol Water will be installing a talbot box and fitting a meter in Coombe Lane and Collett Avenue.

Bristol Water will also be replacing a couple of valves in Town Street from Sunday November 24 to November 26.

Finally, Wessex Water's work to repair a sewer in the High Street should be completed by Wednesday.
