Shepton Mallet Town Council has revealed the full line-up for its free outdoor cinema day in Collett Park, with three films set to run across the day on Saturday, 9 May.

The event is due to run from 11 am to 8 pm, with a children's screening of Zootropolis 2 at 11 am, Encanto at 1.30 pm and Bohemian Rhapsody at 5 pm.

The council has encouraged people to bring chairs and picnic blankets and make a day of it.

A separate post has also confirmed the trader line-up for the event.

Food and drink will come from Douggie's Dough for wood-fired pizza, Denela's Bakery for hog roast, chips, burgers, chicken nuggets and candy floss, Royal Sweet Mix for pick 'n' mix sweets, and Collett Park Cafe for hot dogs, popcorn and other snacks.

The outdoor cinema has been promoted as a free family event in one of the town's best-used green spaces, with the council saying it "can't wait for the big day".

The line-up gives the day a broad family feel, starting with an animated film for younger children, followed by a Disney favourite and ending with a music biopic likely to pull in an older crowd as well.

For Shepton Mallet families, it looks set to be one of the bigger free community events in the park this spring.
